Events Catering Manager
Seasons Catering Co.Ltd is a private caterer providing a variety of catering services throughout the Chilterns. We have a new role for an Events Catering Manager to join our core catering team based at our kitchen unit in Chesham to help expand this part of the business. You will report and work alongside our Operations Director in our outside catering department.

We are looking for someone that can prove they can manage the catering operation of any style of event effectively.
Job Description
You will be the responsible person on site from the beginning to the end of every event you manage. You must be prepared to get involved with all aspects of catering functions which will include serving behind bars, serving at tables, packing and setting up functions and also loading and unloading of vehicles, briefing staff and managing problems effectively and efficiently.
Catering is essentially a practical business and you need to be practical orientated person with an interest in food and drink. It is also a service industry which requires us to be charming at all times. Outside catering is extremely hard work but, because every function is different and we go to many interesting places and meet people from all walks of life, no day is ever the same.
We run every event we undertake to a very high standard and it will be necessary for you to take direction and instruction from our Senior Management Team initially, but we will train you in the basics of how we operate so that you can become a valuable member of our team within a short period. There is an opportunity for longer term development of the role for committed, competent people.
The Operations department deals with the logistics of all our bookings - movement, upkeep and occasional hire of equipment, transportation, event set up, event management, service of food & beverage, client liaison and breakdown of events. You will prepare checklists for booking and will help pack and load/unload vehicles. All managers will be responsible for driving vehicles.
When not working at an event, you will be part of our operations team working at our production unit in Chesham reporting to the General Manager and assisting with deliveries, packing, unloading, food prep etc.
You will spend minimal time within an office environment but when you do, jobs that you will be doing will include liaising with clients, recruiting and training staff, booking staff for events, attending pre-event site visits, attending operational meetings, planning and coordinating events and ensuring that we are delivering the best service and adhering to our financial budgets.
Needless to say building client relationships is a prerequisite to ensure business growth and the success of every event is paramount.
YOU
You have previous operational event catering or catering function experience and a strong willing to learn is essential. You will be efficient and manage your time well and attention to detail is essential as well as strong interpersonal skills as you will be working with many different clients, suppliers and staff. A full driving licence and own car is essential and a fantastic eye for detail whilst being obsessed with high standards is a benefit. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills and be immaculately presented.
We work 7 shifts per week, a mixture of day and evening shifts, depending on the events we are catering, and you must be prepared to work weekends - some of the best parties happen on Saturday nights!
