Free School Meals
Gloucestershire County Council is encouraging all parents to apply for a free school meal if they are eligible. If you do, and are eligible for the scheme then the school will get an extra £430 for every pupil who has applied. The headteacher is allowed to choose exactly how the extra money should be spent, but are encouraged to spend it on reducing class sizes or more one to one tuition.
Parents who have an annual income of less than £16,000 are eligible for free school meals.
Children on free school meals can still have a packed lunch brought from home every day, or can choose to have a school meal only on days when they like what's on the menu. Signing up for free school meals does not mean your child has to have school meals every day.
