This year's Race4Men is taking place on Sunday 22nd August 2010 at Oxstalls Tennis Centre, Plock Court. It is a 5KM run to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The race gets under way at 1pm, although there will be other things going on raffles, bouncy castles for the kids etc.
Taking part for Team Bikini Bathrooms will be, Manager Brendan Veale and bathroom fitters, Tony Daley, Andy Earney and Keith Gooding.
Previously, Brendan himself has taken part in the last 2 Great North Runs with last year's race for The Bristish Heart Foundation in memory of a close friends dad, Leon Gill who sadly died of a heart condition a couple of years ago.
Brendan said, "After the run I gave my medal and Heart Foundation runners vest to his wife who subsequently sent me a somewhat emotional card thanking me for all my efforts and how pleased she was that her son had such caring friends."
He managed to finish last years run in 1 hour 41 mins which was 11 minutes faster than in 2008 and this year he will be attempting to better that time by going under 1 hour 40 minutes which might be a bit of a push, but he certainly been getting the traininig in with the Race4Men a perfect opportunity to get into race mode!
If anyone wants to register run the Race4Men they can apply online at http://supportus.cancerresearchuk.org/Race4Men
