THEY account for just 2% of new build homes, but Bluebell Homes is bucking the trend by offering bungalows at River View in Lydney.
It’s an example of how Bluebell Homes is doing its level best to cater for local housing need by providing a varied choice of property styles alongside community facilities to create a sustainable new neighbourhood.
In fact, according to the latest statistics, out of 159,617 new build homes registered with the NHBC in 2018, only 2,418 (2%) were bungalows, including private sale and affordable homes.
Adele McCoy, sales manager for Bluebell Homes, said: “At Bluebell Homes we pride ourselves in doing things differently and the fact that we’re building bungalows at River View demonstrates this perfectly. People are pleasantly surprised when they discover that bungalows are available to buy as this type of property is so rare.
“It’s perhaps a layout most commonly associated with more mature buyers, but it also appeals to those who want the convenience of having everything on one level. It’s a great option for new parents for example.”
A two-bedroom semi-detached Eastbourne style bungalow is available from £199,995.
Designed to maximise the potential of the property’s footprint, it features an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge to the front. A utility provides dedicated space for the washing machine and dryer.
The bedrooms are situated at the rear of the property and have a shared bathroom.
“What we describe as the second bedroom has French doors that lead out to the garden, but there are no fixed rules as to how to use the space – it could become an additional reception room or perhaps a study,” Adele suggested.
For those who want or need a larger property, River View also offers three and four-bedroom two-storey homes, with prices from £220,000.
The homes are being built as part of a sustainable new community that will feature play areas, exercise equipment and allotments, cycle hire facilities, CCTV and Wi-Fi hotspots.
As the development name suggests, River View is perfectly placed to enable residents to enjoy panoramic views over the Severn estuary.
The historical town of Lydney is known as the gateway to the Forest of Dean and is around 10 miles from Chepstow and the M4. It is well served by a choice of schools and benefits from a wide range of shops and amenities too.
