You can explore Grantham's timeline depicted by wonderful picture tiles created by students in Grantham outside Ged's Cafe - 'Fellows' in the heart of town.
The timeline is Ged's inspiration and has become an awesome picture wall of Grantham's history - Isaac Newton of course, Edith Smith - the first female police officer, World War, The Gingerbreads and The Conduit from Gonerby
Grantham started as a Saxon village, Cromwell first had success here against the Royalists and in 1905 Richard Hornsby and Sons invented the caterpillar track for use with Hornsby's oil engines.
Give Ged a call 01476 576777 and I am sure he would take you through the timeline - it's worth viewing if you are visiting Grantham and you can have a bacon buttie and a cuppa at the same time
