Successes include Tracey Lamb, who was an Olympic torch bearer last year. She was over the moon with her AAA results - consquently she gets a place at her first choice University of Nottingham Trent to study Sport.
Congratulations also go out to Daniel Garrett, main pic. He was thrilled with his BBB result as it meant he would be going to study marketing at Sheffield Hallam later this year.
Students studying A-Levels have been celebrating with a pass rate of 97%, a 2% increase on last year, with an impressive 66% of students taking Further Maths gaining a whopping A*.
Theo Goree & James Fraher were two of the first students to be given their results this morning circa 7.30am, with both gaining places at their first choice Universities, James to Hull and Theo to Aberystwyth.
Linda Houtby, Principal and CEO at Grantham College commented, "Whilst I would like to congratulate all the A-Level students and understand the media’s focus on A-Levels I am also mindful of the several thousands of young adults and adults who have achieved a qualification of some sort over the last few weeks and months. These qualifications are highly regarded by employers and higher education and increasingly we are seeing young people make a positive decision to undertake Apprenticeships"
2013 has been a record year for Grantham College, who have supported over 900 apprentices, increasing the range of Apprenticeship programmes offered.
It's also worth noting that the College has gained further funding for Higher Education courses which means there are more opportunities for local people to study at their local college benefiting from small class sizes, high level student support all at a much lower price than any other Universities. A massive incentive!
