Beer Festival commences Friday 28th August - 4.00pm

Madeleine and Dave are celebrating their 2nd Anniversary at The White Lion, Colsterworth near Grantham. There is always a friendly welcome at The White Lion pub and on the Bank Holiday weekend this couple have organised a packed weekend of entertainment including a coffee morning on Friday to raise funds for Air Ambulance.

The Beers for those in the know include:

Abbeydale - Moon shine. A beautifully balanced ale with a full hop aroma

Batemans - Amber beer intially bitter with a hoppy finish.

Cathedral - Red Imp. A fruity red coloured ale, slightly malty flavour with a mild hop finish

Hambleton - Stallion. A premium beer moderately hoppy throughout with a richly balanced fruit and malts, with a developing bitterness coming through

Mauldrons - Mole trap. Very easy drinking session beer. Crisp and refreshing.

Newby Wyke -  White Squall. A pale blonde ale with a full hop taste and a citrus finish

Oakham - Bishop's Farewell. Strong premium bitter dominated by fruity hop notes with a dry finish

Oldershaws - Mowbray's Mash. A popular pale hoppy session beer, bittered wiht 'Challenger' and late hopped with 'Ahtanum' and 'Caskade' varieties.

Stonehenge - Pigswill. A full bodied warm amber beer, not so bitter, but rich in hop aroma which gives this beer a delightful aftertaste

York - Centurion's Ghost. Dark ruby in colour, full tasting with a mellow roast character, balanced by a light bitterness and autumn fruit flavours.

Now I am not a beer drinker but some of these sound delicious. CHEERS!
