This week I met up with Caroline Dul at the EM Centre for Learning.

They are running some fantastic workshops for children in the summer holidays. My daughter has been studying Ancient Eygpt and this year we went to see Tutankhamun at the O2 Dome so I know she is going to be really interested in the Egyptian Art Day, Life in Ancient Egypt and Death in Ancient Egypt. Caroline told me that the workshops are designed to be thought provoking and to allow the children to interact and more importantly have fun. The rooms are decorated with appropriate props to evoke atmosphere and get the children fully into the theme.

I know my eight year old will love the idea of mummifying her teddy, making canopic jars, writing her name in hieroglyphics and exploring why chocolate was so important to the Aztecs.

These are the sort of childrens activities I have been looking for during the holidays especially since I have been running thebestofgrantham. Also there is pleanty of easy parking!

Well done to the EM Centre for helping us mums, working or not, to entertain and educate our children during the long summer holidays. They also recently hosted the School Food Trust's launch of their 'Lets get cooking' club in the Lincolnshire area. Children from 8 different schools came and prepared dishes like fruit smoothies and crudités - all part of the government's drive towards healthy eating.

I'm going to email Caroline right now!
