KGGS provides a learning environment which is both stimulating and supportive, fostering excellence, self-esteem, independence, initiative, integrity and concern for others to enable every student to develop fully her intellectual and personal qualities

Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School opened in 1910 on the present extensive and attractive site overlooking the town of Grantham. The original, fine buildings have been refurbished and, together with new buildings, additions and modifications made over the years, provide excellent accommodation and facilities for today's students.

In 2003 the school was the first in Lincolnshire to be designated a Science Specialist school. In 2007 we were recognised as a high performing specialist school and awarded a second specialism in Languages.

The school offers a broad range of subjects and has high expectations for all students, who achieve excellent examination results.

Admission is based upon the Lincolnshire Grammar Schools' 11+ procedure and most of our students remain beyond 16, entering the Sixth Form to follow 'AS' and A2 level courses before proceeding to higher education.

In addition to its enviable record of academic, sporting, musical and artistic achievement, Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School has a well-established tradition of service to the local and wider community. It numbers amongst its former students, Britain's first woman Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher (nee Roberts), who was Head Girl from 1942-43
