A very beautiful and, in September very warm and peaceful. The children were able to play on the Sandy beaches nearby and also could catch crabs.

And some strange fish which we actually saw in the Aquarium. Which had legs and fins? A fish that can walk.

If Darwin had seen this he didn't need to travel the world to work out evolution.

Anyway, there is a hut, with a very polite lady, selling ice cream coffee and buckets and spades.

There are also toilets. Clean and disabled.

This peaceful marina was once a quarry until the entrance was blown out in the 60’s. It’s in the north east corner of Guernsey & has so many attractions.
The natural beauty of this region is excellent for walking, cycling, jogging, even sea swimming if you’re game! I suggest meditation at Fort Doyle, binocular use from the path above marina entrance, yoga on sandy beach south of marina, opposite Ile de Umptoile, lunch at nearby Pembroke Beach Cafe & dinner at Beaucette Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
The marina facilities are top notch. They are diligently cleaned each morning, always providing hot powerful showers, & huge washers & driers for just £3 each.
Most boat jobs are do-able from here. Just ask at the office.
Marina entrance is not for faint hearted, so do your tide homework beforehand, as it does almost dry out. Beware the water height marker is currently not visible to approaching boats on harbour wall. The swell & currents here can be extremely strong. There are 3 mooring bouys to the north of the marina approach, useful if awaiting tide above the sill.
A friendly member of staff may come out on a dorey to have a chat. VHF 80 marina office.
