Optometrists, Sarah and Dominic Burchett, took over Webster Opticians in 2022 following the retirement of its founder.

They have invested in the very latest equipment and frame selection to ensure that Webster Opticians continues as a leading local eye care practice.

Professional Team

Sarah and Dominic, both Optometrists themselves, along with resident Optometrist Michelle have combined clinical experience of over 80 years. With this knowledge and expertise,  supported by the latest technology and with plenty of scheduled appointment time, you can have full confidence that all your professional eye examination needs are covered.

The Optometrists and clinical support team all have a great working relationship. With the latest and most up to date technology, this allows for the best standards of clinical care to all patients. Michelle also works at the Orthoptic Department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in the children’s clinic. Over the years, service provision has expanded to include contact lens fitting and care, myopia control options, orthokeratology, diabetic and glaucoma screening, coloured overlay assessment and colourimetry.

In addition, other team members include Phil who is a Qualified Level 4 Spectacle Maker, Claudia and Rosie are our third-year trainee Dispensing Opticians both of whom qualify this year, and of course very established team members; Jo, Marianne and Shantell who bring a wealth of skill and knowledge to the Practice.

Glasses

The Practice has over 1,300 optical and sunglasses frames on site. The team support the patient through their dispensing journey with clear discussion and best advice around their eye-care needs, and product availability.

It is important that patients leave the Practice feeling they have had the best experience possible, from their eye-examination through to their choice of glasses and lenses. They want patients to see the world clearly and comfortably whilst looking their best.

As part of embracing the times, Webster's have also introduced Eyeplan, a direct-debit scheme, which spreads the cost of clinical care and gives full peace of mind. If a patient feels their eye sight has changed they can be seen for an eye-examination or contact lens check as required. It also gives patients discounts on glasses, sunglasses, accessories and solutions, with the option to take out accidental damage cover for glasses.

* We will be closed until 10:30am on the first Friday of the month for Team Training
