Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast service excellent. Dinner not such good organisation or attention. Pleasant suite with lots of space, choice of pillows, loads of towels, kitchenette, patio garden with hot tub. We also arrived to lovely welcome of fruit and chocs, towels shaped as swans and heart with petals (for our anniversary). Pleasant grounds with lake. Unfortunately we prefer to be in a country or coastal setting and this is off a busy road in a built up area.

Saltwater
Our chefs love to create delicious, seasonal dishes. We are very proud of the seafood (naturally), but our menus have plenty of inspirational meat and vegetarian dishes, plus a special section for kids

Truly excellent.

The mussels I ordered were perhaps the best I've ever had. The gin menu is also worth mentioning, with 30+ varieties available.Food: 5/5  |  Service: 5/5  |  Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Lovely, welcoming hotel with pleasant grounds and close to beach and coastal walking route. Formal gardens nicely done, however we tried to walk down through lower part and found blocked paths and ill maintained areas. Staff friendly and helpful, room comfortable and well maintained, though I found it too warm at night and was unable to get a hot bath, inspite of piping hot water in the basin tap. Unfortunately let down by some of food, particularly from pastry chef- a tiramasu should not be stodgy! Rather than a guest lounge, there is a tea room, which is also frequented by the locals. The scones were again a disappointment. Breakfast buffet was OK, but if you don't go for a full English, other cooked dishes left a lot to be desired.
