Yesterday I really did discover a hidden gem at Sausmarez Manor in Guernsey. Tucked away at the back of the gift shop in the Manor grounds is a staircase which leads you up to a real hidden gem - Affinity Gems.
Affinity Gems moved from their town shop to its new location earlier this year and owner, Koreen Le Page is extremely happy with the move.
Koreen explained that the main benefits of the new location are that it's a studio rather than just a shop, it's open 7 days a week (10am to 5pm) and offers a wide range of gifts for all budgets.
With easy parking in the Manor grounds you can quickly pop in or visit for a few hours and enjoy the other attractions including the Lake-Side café opposite the studio, a 9 hole short golf course, the Sculpture Festival at the Art Park and a Coppersmiths to name a few.

If so, you could book into one of Affinity Gem's Saturday afternoon Basic Jewellery Making Workshops. You could even make a day of it and visit the Saturday morning Farmer's Market, stay for some lunch in the café and then attend the afternoon workshop in the studio.

Unique Tiara Designs
Affinity Gems are now also able to offer unique bridal tiara designs.
Koreen has been very excited about their unique bridal tiara designs, even more so after receiving a letter from Buckingham Palace prior to Will and Kate's wedding. Koreen had written to The Palace offering Kate her unique bridal tiara design and was delighted when she received a reply saying they had been seriously considering her offer before deciding upon using an heirloom. Koreen has framed the letter and put it in pride of place in the studio for her customers to see and admire.
