Following the success of Gary Bougourd’s Customer Service Award and Tom Nichols' Apprentice of the Year shortlisting; another member of our hard working team has gained industry recognition.
Troy Rees Davies, a civil engineering student gaining practical experience with both local consulting engineers Babbé McCathie and our sister company T&G Limited in Jersey, has been hailed as Young Achiever of the Year at the Jersey Construction Council Awards.
What a fantastic year it has been for this amazing young man. Having successfully completed the first half of his MEng in Civil Engineering Troy has spent the last year working with both T&G Limited and Babbé McCathie as part of his 'Year in Industry', after which he will return to Cardiff University to complete the final two years of his Masters degree. Troy’s exceptional year culminated in him being nominated for and winning this Jersey Construction Council Award.
The prestigious Jersey Construction Council Awards event was held on 15th September 2014 at the Royal Jersey Showground. In attendance was a strong representation from the T&G Group of Companies from both islands, with both T&G Limited from Jersey and Babbé McCathie from Guernsey sending staff along to support and cheer Troy on.
This year's award ceremony was attended by over 350 people and celebrated the quality and commitment of both individuals and companies that have excelled in the past year of the construction industry. Everyone at the T&G Group companies are especially proud that Troy walked away with the Young Achiever of the Year Award sponsored by Skills Jersey.
Troy was presented with his award by entertainer and comedian, Patrick Kielty, before heading off back to his studies in Cardiff.
All of the staff at the T&G Group wish Troy every success with his final years of university and look forward to working with him again.
