Last month we hosted an awards evening at La Reunion for the Guernsey Business of the Year Awards to celebrate all of the local winners from among thebestof Guernsey business members, and the evening was a great success enjoyed by all who attended.
As we detailed in a previous blog there were six local award winners: Trim Dog Pet Centre, JR Photography, Specsavers Opticians Market Street, Forest Road Garage, Firstcall and The Captains, which also won the overall award for being Guernsey Business of the Year.
The Business of the Year Awards evening was held on Friday 17th March 2017 and La Reunion did us proud as our venue, as you can see from many of the great comments on the La Reunion reviews page. Alison de la Mare from The Captains says it best: "Lovely evening for the bestof awards night. Thank you to La Reunion and all the staff."
There were sixty-three attendees at the awards evening, watching the seven awards and thirty certificates get handed out to the winners. The fantastic award trophies were created by Ginger Squirrel, while Bonboniera kindly provided the balloons to decorate the venue, and Party On provided the entertainment.
We raised £283 for local charity Safer with our raffle on the night. First prize in the raffle, a pair of inter-island flights with Blue Islands, was won by Sean Gillease from Concept Group. Among the other raffle prize winners Nick Olliver won a £100 La Reunion voucher and Tim Bush walked away with a £25 Trim Dog Pet Centre voucher. Jan Olliver won a traditional Sunday lunch for two at The Captains, while both Sarah Le Marchant and Marcel Magloire received a bottle of Prosecco and Pink Fizz donated by de garis accounting.
Photographs from the night, taken by JR Photography, can be viewed on our Facebook page here and you can discuss the evening and the awards on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #BOYA17.
