Member News - Local Book Launch:
Nicki Harrison, a 7-year member of The Best of Guernsey has an exciting announcement. While continuing to run her business as a Travel Counsellor, creating personalised journey for her customers, Nicki has written a dystopian fantasy trilogy. The second book in the series, ‘Reckoning’ will be hitting the shelves on the 21st March 2025.
About the author:
Developing the imagination one might expect of a fantasy author, Nicki’s travels and experiences combined with her geeky nature has strengthens her love for creating unique characters and an immersive world for her fictional Encia Trilogy. Taking readers on the only type of journey she cannot create in her day job, Nicki hopes her writing will capture your imagination and give a fresh escapism for anyone who enjoys fantasy novels.
Although set in a fictional world of Nicki’s creation, there are some notably local places and the odd Guernsey-ism to be found in both this upcoming book and its predecessor, The Withering: Book 1 of the Encia Trilogy.

“Bringing this second book together has been such a fun journey but it wouldn’t have been possible without my local network. The incredible cover was designed by an incredibly talented, local designer who I got to know while booking her honeymoon. My local editor is often nicknamed my sister from another mister and the character artist connection came through a local networking group. These books wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for all these local people… and many more!”
