Each year, Resolution IT carefully selects four charities to support, offering both financial donations and practical help to empower them in achieving their goals.

For 2024, following nominations from local initiatives, the Resolution IT team, and the Community Committee, we are proud to have partnered with Guernsey Cheshire Home, Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, Channel Island Air Search, and Headway Jersey.

The company’s opt-in salary donation scheme, which Resolution IT matched, raised £4000 to be shared equally among the four charities.

On top of this, Information Security Analyst, David Cusack, took on the challenging Three Peaks Challenge, raising an impressive £1600. His incredible effort added to the funds distributed to each cause.

The cornerstone of our support was hands-on assistance, pro bono IT services, and collaborative projects, depending on the charity’s requirements. This has been outlined below.

Guernsey Cheshire Home

A priority for Guernsey Cheshire Home was digital transformation, so we provided 25 hours of pro bono IT support, facilitating upgrades to their technology infrastructure, setting up a new email system, configuring new printers, and migrating them to a new management portal, as well as donating a desktop device to be used by the administrative team.

Mary Ellen Carter, Operations Manager for Guernsey Cheshire Home, said:

“Resolution IT’s exceptional support has been invaluable in enhancing our IT infrastructure and assisting us with our ongoing transition from pen and paper to a digital approach.”

Channel Islands Air Search

For Channel Islands Air Search, a key requirement was the implementation of a new cloud-based telephone system for the volunteers to access on their own personal devices. We partnered with Genesis to implement this new phone system, designed to streamline communication for their dedicated team of volunteers.

John Fitzgerald of Channel Islands Air Search said:

“We’ve been incredibly grateful for Resolution IT’s support. What they’ve facilitated with Genesis has been immensely helpful, and they’ve been very supportive.”

Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation

We partnered with PPBF for our annual design challenge to raise awareness for their important work. In partnership with competition sponsor, PlainSail, we donated a Smart TV and Xbox to one of the PPBF Southampton apartments to provide a touch of home for families who are staying there whilst their children receive care. ‘Matthew’s Hideaway’, a room within one of these apartments, was also kitted out with some custom LEGO artwork depicting the competition’s winning design: a flying pirate ship designed to provide safe passage to Southampton Hospital for local children requiring care, designed by Amber Armstrong.

Matthew’s Hideaway is dedicated to Matthew, a young boy who lost his battle to cancer. He loved LEGO, so this artwork and the important message behind it seemed a fitting addition to the room.

Jo Priaulx, PPBF co-founder, said:

“This collaboration has not only helped with fundraising but has also raised awareness, which is a key part of keeping our charity active in the community. The additions to Frankie’s Den – one of our flats in Southampton – will benefit families for years to come, and helping to keep Matthew’s memory alive is something that means a great deal to his loved ones.”

Headway Jersey

A key requirement for Headway Jersey was new devices that could be used by the charity volunteers. Resolution IT client, Entrust, kindly donated devices they no longer needed, which our team wiped and refurbished to make them ready for Headway’s use.

Headway said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Resolution IT for their generosity and support this year, being chosen as one of their charities means so much to us. The refurbished laptops, kindly donated by Resolution IT and Entrust, will make a significant difference to our team, allowing us to operate more efficiently and dedicate even more focus to supporting individuals and families affected by a brain injury. Their contribution enables us to continue making a positive impact in our community and we can’t thank you enough.”
