The Duke of Richmond Hotel announced their plans via social media and general manager Gavin Byrne said the response was overwhelming.
‘We appreciate that for some of our elderly neighbours it will be very difficult to get to a supermarket or restaurant and we want them to know that we are here to help’.
People who live near the hotel can call before 1pm and will have dinner delivered that evening, with absolutely no charge.
‘We will have a Monday to Sunday menu of hearty, homely food, and we’ll do our best to accommodate people who are in real need.’
After the food is prepared by the hotel chefs, it will be delivered on foot by staff members.
