Top Dog was established in October 2016 and has grown from strength to strength.
Top Dog is a family run business and is licensed and insured to provide dog boarding in their home and has the added bonus of a new state of the art grooming parlour on-site so your furry friends will of not only had a great holiday, but will go home clean and looking very smart - feeling like a true Top Dog whilst in our care.
Due to the rapid growth of the business they have been able to expand their service offering as Laura Duquemin joins the team on a more permanent basis. Laura loves the outdoors, taking on a challenge and going on adventures and she is looking forward to working with the animals that she loves.
Top Dog are expanding their service offering to include dog walking and canicross fitness training to new and existing clients either on a 1 to 1 basis or social group. Walks will vary around the Island and sessions will run for 45mins.
So I hear you say – what is Canicross?
Canicross is an off-road sport similar to cross country where you get to run with your dog hands-free. Specially designed equipment is used such as a supportive harness for your dog, a shock absorbing bungee line to restrict any jolting if your dog suddenly pulls and waist belt for the runner to ensure both run comfortably and efficiently together.
Canicross offers a fun, social and highly effective way for your dog to get fit and is a great alternative option to help mentally stimulate your dog. It is also ideal for dogs with behavioural problems, or those that can’t go off the lead for whatever reason.
Each dog will be assessed on their current level of fitness and past history. Throughout the sessions there will be constant monitoring to ensure that your dog is not over-exhausting. Age restrictions apply - your dog must be at least 12 months of age to ensure fully grown.
