In their annual Winter Concert series, Guernsey Music Centre students showcase their hard work with an evening of varied and entertaining music.

Intermediate and Girls' Choirs - Conductor Rachel Wright

The Youth Wind Band will be performing ‘Palladio’ by Karl Jenkins, ‘River City Serenade’ by Phillip Sparke and ‘Queen in Concert’ which will feature many of the most popular tunes by the rock group Queen.

The Youth Training Orchestra programme will feature Mendelssohn’s Hebrides’ Overture, Mozart’s ‘Dance Suite (Gavotte and Minuet)’, ‘Poker Face’ by Lady Gaga, and ‘Melodies from Rigoletto’ by Verdi.

The Intermediate Choir will perform music including ‘The Gospel Train’ arr. Arch and ‘Gonna Rise Up Singin’ by Don Besig. The Guernsey Girls’ Choir will perform music including the popular ‘Danny Boy’, ‘The Wraggle Taggle Gypsies’, and ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s best Friend’ from the musical ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’.

The evening will conclude with a joint performance of the ‘Theme from Rocky’ by Bill Conti.
