stayed there for a weeks break with my girlfriend my son an my parents.
my parents upgraded there room so that they could have a Jacuzzi which was lovely however we were unable to use this for 2 days due to it being filthy so they had to empty it clean it an refill it before we could use it........
overall the holiday was lovely beautiful surroundings, only 20mins walk into st peter port however taxis are readily available an also buses. but what we found out few days into hols is that if your not a local they will charge you more.
hiring a car was so easy an we even had an upgrade 2 a vw golf cabriolet as original car we wanted not available which was given 2 us at the cheaper rate, the island is only small so easy to view the whole island.
I thoroughly recommend a day trip over to herm and sark these islands are very beautiful and a very relaxed way of life on both with only modes of transport walking tractor or horse drawn carts.

First visit to Guernsey and the St. Pierre Park lived up to expectations, excellent hotel in lovely surroundings, our room was large spotlessly clean with every facility ne eded to make a stay very comfortable with views overlooking gardens with a small balcony. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice and excellent service. I used the swimming pool a number times and liked the fact that a bathrobe plus a towel were given. Good size pool for swimmers. Although I had no spa treatments was able to use rest rooms an advantage after swimming. Our booking was BB only, so ate in the Terrace Lounge food was good, menu varied although food and drink thoughtout the hotel a little expensive. On the down side, no evening entertainment at all only board games and cards etc in the Terrace lounge this is not to everyones taste and considering the size of the hotel this could easily be corrected. Our room balcony only had room for one chair as it was a double room should have catered for two. Walking to St Peter Port takes a good 30 mins uphill partly and recommend bus which stops just outside hotel.

We hadn't had a holiday this year due to exams and results etc, so treated ourselves to executive rooms with hot tub - the rooms were spacious and comfortable, very clean and very well equipped. Only minor issues have already been documented, inexperienced staff at breakfast, cannot open patio doors on hot nights, and some delay in receiving bar meals. However this
was overall a lovely hotel and a truly relaxing holiday. We had a car, but I have been to Guernsey before without one, which was lovely too.

We very much enjoyed our time here for my Nan's birthday! The hotel and staff were wonderful, breakfast was simply divine and the spa and pool area were so modern and beautiful! Not to mention the beautiful views over the lake and golf course! Perfect for the bus service to town as well. We will be returning again in the near future.

This hotel is everything a 3-star should be - good size rooms, good location and good breakfast options!

The furniture in the room seemed a bit dated but that's just my opinion. I was quite surprised to see a Nespresso machine in my room, but it wasn't working so that's a shame. The staff however were courteous to help out and did try and fix it. When they couldn't, they ensured the regular supply of tea and coffee was maintained.

Food isn't pricey, so that was an additional plus.

All in all, good hotel and very close to the bus station from where you can get a bus straight to St Peter's port - what a beautiful location! But more on that in another review.

We only stayed one night but everything was made perfect by every single member of staff
From the front desk to the porter to the lady in the breakfast room every interaction made us feel so welcome
The room was very clean and even though the radiator wasn’t working the way they dealt Witt the problem was 1st class
Pool and Gym facilities were also great

Would love to go back

My wife having recently been ill, we decided a short break would do her good. We chose this hotel "on spec" but what an inspired choice it proved to be. Everything about the hotel spoke of care for the guests. The ambiance of the place is outstanding - luxurious, but not over-stated, Rooms are comfortable, and the re-furbished ones, one of which we enjoyed, are excellent. The staff in all areas were great, both those front of house and those in the restaurant, where they went out of their way to please. We will return!!

Located quite near to the main High Street in St Peter Port, the OGH harks back to a bygone age of British and Colonial hotels. The building is beautiful, the Coward Room is furnished very nicely and suits the afternoon tea guests.

The staff are very personable and most are eager to assist (a few notables less eager, but they are in the minority). The Governors is a great fine dining option within the Hotel, excellent food and service, the Brasserie is a more "run of the mill" choice in the informal guest house style. The bar is linked to the restaurant and drinks can be taken by the pool.

The rooms vary, some are very impressive and the others can look quite tired, with sea views for some guests and views across a graveyard and access road for the less lucky. Internet in room,Pay TV and a limited selection of cable channels are provided.

Overall this is the best option on the island of Guernsey with adjoining Spa it attracts a mix of business guest, celebs and retired couples.Certainly not an 18-30 crowd! but a fine hotel keeping traditions alive.

Many thanks to all at the OGH who made our recent stay with them one to remember. We have just returned from a few days away with some friends to celebrate two birthdays and all of us agreed that, although the bedrooms were a little small, the staff were brilliant and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. What made the stay even more special was the delivery of cards and cakes on the appropriate days. Most unexpected but very thoughtful. The public rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious with a large selection available. We will definitely return to the OGH when we next visit to Guernsey.

We have just returned from spending Easter at the Old Government House Hotel and Spa.

Without exception, all the staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very special.

Our room, with a sea view was lovely.

The meals we had in the brasserie were delicious and the service excellent.

We finished off our stay by having afternoon tea in the lounge. This was a perfect ending to a wonderful stay and we hope very much to return soon
