We spent a couple of nights here because we had journeyed to a wedding on the beautiful island. The welcome we received could not have been bettered. All staff were discreet but friendly. We were accompanied by our boxer doggie and she was delighted to receive not only an extremely warm welcome from staff, but the chef went out of his way to create some doggie-friendly biscuits! Admirable choice for breakfast, (for us, that is)!
The only slight criticism was the lack of a decent car park, but that is understanable given the situation of the hotel. There is a beautiful park within 60 yards of the hotel.

I stay in hotels all round the world with my job and can honestly say that this is one of my favourites. It is part of the Red Carnation group which I had never heard of before but I was so interested in the history of it. Lovely story and beautiful hotels. It is in a great position , right in the centre of town and a stones throw from shops, bars, restaurants and the harbour. The tourist Information is in a lovely building just down to the seafront and along to the left. The hotel has a grand feel to it but not stuffy at all.

The OGH ( as we learned to call it ) is a lovely old building filled with traditional furnishings and lots of character. From the moment we walked into the reception with
it's chandeliers and vases of lilies and were met by the very friendly concierge Stewart I
knew we were going to love it. The concierge staff park your car for you. The reception staff were super nice and we were given a glass of bubbly whilst we were being checked in. Stewart then showed us to our rooms ( we had three ) and gave us lots of information regarding the hotel and Guernsey which was terrific as this was our first visit to the island.

We had breakfast in the light and bright Brasserie which was a conservatory and looked onto the garden. There was also the option to have breakfast in the lovely garden. The hotel is very quirky. There are various little rooms with bars and outside terraces and a fabulous banqueting room which has gorgeous chandeliers and a huge window looking out to sea. Traditional afternoon tea is served in another lovely lounge which also has books and boardgames. There is also a Spa.

Two of our rooms had balconies which had views out to see. All the rooms have traditional decor. There was a hand written welcome note and we also received a personal card thanking us for our visit to the hotel after we returned home. Very comfortable beds. Tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron/ironing board available on request. Lovely robes and slippers and monogrammed linen on the beds. L'Occitane toiletries in the bathroom. No fridge but I believe you can request one. The curtains are fab. Heavy and well lined so we had a great sleep. Turndown service .The one thing which I think would definitely be an improvement would be to remove the horizontal net curtain which blocks the great view. Seems such a shame.

The hotel has an outdoor, heated pool which is surrounded by geraniums. Nice sun loungers and big white fluffy towels. It is like a little oasis in the middle of town. In the evening the gardens are lit with fairy lights and you can sit out with your drinks. I will mention that the drinks are very expensive but as I previously said there are plenty of nice bars beside the hotel. One directly behind has a beer garden and I noticed a lot of the hotel residents in there.

Guernsey was so enjoyable. From the lovely restaurants, countryside, beautiful beaches to the very interesting "Things to do". The German Hospital, Little Chapel , Castles etc etc and flowers! Everywhere there seems to be beautiful hanging baskets and flowers. For my dad's 83rd birthday celebrations we went to Cobo Bay and had dinner watching the sunset over the beach. Just perfect. We also took the ferry over to Sark and went round this little island in a horse and cart. The hotel booked this for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As an animal lover I was a bit apprehensive about the horses welfare but all of these horses are well looked after.

The staff at the OGH are all so lovely. Nelly at reception is like a little pocket rocket. So enthusiastic and friendly. All of the reception staff are great. All genuinely willing to help. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for anyone in this hotel.

I am sorry that I cannot remember everyones name but would like to mention the absolutely charming Alessandro in the restaurant. So professional and such a lovely man. Another lovely staff member Arsenio greeted us each morning and always remembered my 'hot' milk for my coffee. Jaro is another super chap. He gave us lots of information about restaurants and made various bookings for us. Francisco in concierge is a really nice chap too.

This hotel is pricey but we loved it. It's all the little details which make this hotel stand out and it's staff. The only one downside was the early check out. It is 11am and not the traditional 12 noon. If not for that this it would have been perfect.

If I ever return to Guernsey this is where I would want to stay , it's fab.

Just back from 3 wonderful nights at this hotel. From the time you walk through the door till the time you leave you are made to feel like the most important guests in the hotel. We were given a glass of wine when we arrived whilst waiting to check in and a special mention to Stuart and Jaro they are amazing members of staff. They gave us lots of information about the island and the tour of the hotel was brilliant with lots of stories on route. We stayed in room 315 which was lovely. The bedding was wonderful and the beds really comfortable. Plenty of choice at breakfast and service was excellent. We only had the one meal in the evening and that was outstanding; again the service was exceptional. Pay a visit to the gin bar. Sitting out on the veranda was great. Every member of the staff in the hotel was so friendly and helpful. Thanks for such an amazing visit.

Ok hotel. Restaurant had no availability until late and the independent restaurant was closed so ate in the bar. This was reasonable. The safety deposit box in my room was broken but maintenance did come and fix it. Shower took a very long time for the water to heat. The best bit about this hotel is the breakfast - a lovely spread and the gym facilities are good too.

Spacious and elegant. Full range of facilities, as you'd expect from a 4 star. Good pool, gym, dry and steam hot rooms - so remember to take your costume and goggles. Free wifi, with good connectivity. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Breakfast buffet was extensive and well presented. Vista across the grounds was stunning. Staff welcoming and efficient.
Bedroom was large, with small balcony, large bathroom.

We stayed four nights at this wonderful hotel. The minute we walked in we were impressed with the cleanliness, polite staff super room and fantastic surroundings. We highly recommend going for a swim there, as you are kitted out with a white robe and fluffy towel. we were forewarned prior to a function that there may be some noise but we were not disturbed. Our room overlooked the lake and water fountain and was modern clean and spacious. Our room got a little warm at night but was soon rectified by opening the window. The hotel is situated about a 20 minute brisk walk from st peter port, but close by is a bus stop. We can recommend the buses, a great way to see the island. The breakfasts cater for all tastes and offer an array of fabulous food, from fruit salads cereals, cooked breakfasts and Guernsey produce. Well worth a visit.

On arrival we were informed that our reservation had not been paid for. The receptionist said she would check the next day. I was so worried that I phoned home and gave a member of my family my bank account details who confirmed that payment had been made 3 months earlier! We told the receptionist as soon as we knew and she advised that she also checked but she offered no apology and had no intention of letting us know the outcome of her enquiry.

Waited for an hour for food which was cold when it arrived and consequently ate out every evening after. However could not fault breakfast - excellent choices and the best staff in the whole hotel.

Ordered a lunch time snack at the Pavilion restaurant and 3 out of the 4 orders were incorrect. My husbands ham sandwich contained cellophane and when pointed out to the waiter said "I will show the evidence to the kitchen". Again no apology - didn't eat there again either.

Spa treatment rooms need updating. Where I had my treatment there were brown water stains on the ceiling and the lighting was inadequate so much so that my nail polish was applied very badly. The terrace area outside the pool is in need of painting and in the meantime removal of cobwebs would help. It all looks very tired.

Hotel bedroom looked dated with dark brown furniture and the patio doors also need some maintenance. This may have been a 4 star hotel once but not anymore.

stayed there for a weeks break with my girlfriend my son an my parents.
my parents upgraded there room so that they could have a Jacuzzi which was lovely however we were unable to use this for 2 days due to it being filthy so they had to empty it clean it an refill it before we could use it........
overall the holiday was lovely beautiful surroundings, only 20mins walk into st peter port however taxis are readily available an also buses. but what we found out few days into hols is that if your not a local they will charge you more.
hiring a car was so easy an we even had an upgrade 2 a vw golf cabriolet as original car we wanted not available which was given 2 us at the cheaper rate, the island is only small so easy to view the whole island.
I thoroughly recommend a day trip over to herm and sark these islands are very beautiful and a very relaxed way of life on both with only modes of transport walking tractor or horse drawn carts.

First visit to Guernsey and the St. Pierre Park lived up to expectations, excellent hotel in lovely surroundings, our room was large spotlessly clean with every facility ne eded to make a stay very comfortable with views overlooking gardens with a small balcony. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice and excellent service. I used the swimming pool a number times and liked the fact that a bathrobe plus a towel were given. Good size pool for swimmers. Although I had no spa treatments was able to use rest rooms an advantage after swimming. Our booking was BB only, so ate in the Terrace Lounge food was good, menu varied although food and drink thoughtout the hotel a little expensive. On the down side, no evening entertainment at all only board games and cards etc in the Terrace lounge this is not to everyones taste and considering the size of the hotel this could easily be corrected. Our room balcony only had room for one chair as it was a double room should have catered for two. Walking to St Peter Port takes a good 30 mins uphill partly and recommend bus which stops just outside hotel.

We hadn't had a holiday this year due to exams and results etc, so treated ourselves to executive rooms with hot tub - the rooms were spacious and comfortable, very clean and very well equipped. Only minor issues have already been documented, inexperienced staff at breakfast, cannot open patio doors on hot nights, and some delay in receiving bar meals. However this
was overall a lovely hotel and a truly relaxing holiday. We had a car, but I have been to Guernsey before without one, which was lovely too.
