I spent 4 days for a meeting in the OGH. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort for the customers. I had a room with a stunning view on the sea. The breakfast is fantastic. Enjoy this hotel and visit Guernsey.

After having stayed several times at the group's sister hotel, The Chesterfield in London, I had high hopes for the OGH - I was not disappointed. Very high service levels including a tour of the hotel on arrival and staff greeting me by name throughout my 3 night stay - all nice touches. Beautiful location above St Peter Port with extremely well kept gardens overlooking a very warm outdoor pool. Brasserie dining was a pleasure, I would agree with earlier TA comments about how good the Eggs Benedict breakfast dish is. My one criticism is in the guest bedrooms - I am all for antique furnishings, but in my room (105) some of the pieces were looking a little worn out - knocked white paint marks on the desk and the bed mirrors is dire need of re-silvering - hence 4 rather than 5 stars. A shame as the rest of the hotel was exceptionally well maintained and presented.

We had seen mixed reviews for this hotel before we arrived but we found the reception staff very helpful and friendly. The hotels bedroom and public places were very clean. Breakfast was fantastic with a very large choice on offer and lunch in the bar was excellent. Dinner in the restaurant was unfortunately disappointing but may have been because the hotel was hosting a boxing dinner for 200 people on the same night. None the less the restaurant service was excellent. One evening we ordered room service which arrived with our hot food order within 10 minutes. The Hotel was clearly making an effort to host large corporate functions with Jersey Rugby club booked over the Saturday night and an Antiques Fair for the Bank holiday Monday . We left as scheduled on the Sunday , (Jersey won the rugby match and celebrated late into Saturday night!).

Wonderful hotel with excellent staff who looked after us exceedingly well. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
I used quite a lot of the facilities within the hotel. The gym had a reasonable selection of equipment but the area was a bit small. The indoor pool was just divine. Our room, on the second floor, had a tiny balcony. It was very quiet and overlooking the lake.
Hotel is just a short walk to the bus stop with very easy access to everwhere on the island. Cost 60p each time you use the bus service but you can go all around the island for just one payment.
We did use our car when we went to dine in the evening. This enabled us to get to the beach areas on the other side of the island.
I would most certainly recommend this hotel and the island of Guernsey. I can't wait to return.

Stayed with our two teenage daughters for a 5 night half term break, had two rooms next to each other, lovely aspect with views over the gardens and small balcony which we used. The leisure facilities were not bad, although the steam room did not work all the time we were there. Rooms large and spacious, good beds and nice large bathroom. Breakfast was good, did not eat in the main restaurant as was expensive and a bit too big for our taste, ate in the more relaxing bar cafe, food okay. On one night we had a long wait for our food but staff very apologetic and gave us free drinks. Found all the staff to be attentive and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Relaxing break.

This large hotel is archetypally 4*. I wouldn't say it exceeded our expecations based on that, but neither did it fail us. Our room overlooked the garden: great view from small balcony, but I can imagine it may be noisy if there was a crowd on the bar terrace below.

It's a mile out of the town centre, but 1, 1A, 3 & 3A buses all serve it at 60p a go, so transport isn't a problem.

Breakfast was extensive and the waiting staff were noticeably more visible then that is often the case at buffet breakfast. We overheard the head waiter extolling the virtues of a particular bread available to a neighbourind diner with genuine passion.

Be sure to put your 'do not disturb' sign up though! I'm told a chambermaid walked in to our room at 0800, though I never noticed because the large double beds are extremely comfortable.

I chose this hotel as there was a good price offered when I visited earlier this month. I had been warned that this hotel was run-down and had slipped badly from its former greatness. Ergo, I was really pleased to find the room in good condition and a decent size. Great facilities in the hotel, an excellent breakfast and restaurant.
Good location, easy parking. Will use this hotel again.
Gripes: no minibar, no water bottles in room.

My finance and I had a 3 night stay at the hotel to celebrate a special birthday.
Our hotel room was clean and comfortable but cold as was the case with most of the rooms in the Hotel. We enjoyed lovely food in the restaurant and the head waiter Kumar couldn't do enough for us, even bringing a heater in and plugging it next to our table. He is a real asset to the hotel.
The Spa was a real disapointment . it is badly laid out so guests have to traipse to and from through the reception area to go between the pool and the dry changing rooms and relaxation room. There are separate saunas and steam rooms in the male/female wet changing rooms which is a shame as you are unable to spend the time with respective partners. Both the sauna and steam rooms were in need of refurbishmnent and the sauna had rotten wood and tiles comming off on the floor. The changing area was tatty and not very clean either.

This short 3 night break was booked as a birthday treat. The flights, car hire and hotel were all completed in a very easy and professional manner, by premier holidays through secret escapes. We arrived on the island about 10:00 after collecting the car, drove to the hotel expecting to be told that we couldn't have the room till 15:00, wrong, they accommodated us straight away. The hotel was wonderful has a superb garden and lake, a spa on site and has it's own golf course, unfortunately we didn't take the opportunity to visit either, due to other commitments. The room was clean and spacious with it's own balcony, on the ground level, with a lovely view, of the tennis courts and grounds, there was a good selection of tea and coffee makings in the room, it was quiet, we had a very restful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The staff were all very friendly, courteous, always smiling and helpful they could not do enough to make our visit pleasant, and what was very considerate and especially appreciated was the birthday card and small box of chocolates, left in the room from the manager. We ate in both the restaurant and the bar during our stay and the food was exceptional. Breakfast had a good variety and choice of cooked or continental, very tasty. There is plenty of free parking available, the hotel is ideally situated to explore the island, there is a Waitrose across the road very handy to buy the items left or forgotten at home. We recommend this hotel and look forward to revisiting both the hotel and the island when the weather is warmer.

I went to this hotel on a 3 night break . I couldn't fault the facilities, staff or food. All of which I would class as exceptional. I stayed in a ground floor garden view room. Which was very comfortable with a large bed. Tea, coffee and toiletries were all replenished twice a day if required.
The evening meals were of a good local selection which was very tasty and served by friendly waiters who were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfasts were also first class with both a selection from hot and cold buffet or from a breakfast menu.
I used the all facilities in the gym and the pool which again was well looked after clean tidy well presented.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to anyone visiting Guernsey. The manager should be very proud of this establishment and staff all of whom are a credit.
