This hotel cannot be faulted on the location, gardens, sports facilities or pool. It is situated just outside St Peter Port, opposite Waitrose, and on a regular and frequent bus route. Anyone flying in would easily be able to get round the island sightseeing by public transport. We took the car over on the ferry from Poole, and there was extensive parking available. The hotel is set right back from the road, in beautiful grounds including a large lake, tennis courts and children's playgrounds, next to a large golf course, and there is no traffic noise at all - in fact, there was no noise audible at any time of the day or night, ensuring a really good nights sleep. I can recommend the executive rooms overlooking the gardens, with large balconies to sit out on. In October, many seasonal staff leave and the new staff were just starting, so there were a few training issues, which is why I have only given 3stars for service. These should all be resolved in a few weeks, and we will definitely be going back!

Really liked this place. Staff all very friendly and helpful, like a family-run hotel. Gym is very good and only four months old. Decent bar, good variety on the menu and the stuff I had was nice. Didn't use the golf course but great thing to have on your doorstep. An easy five out of five.

Stayed for three days with family including baby grandson. We experienced very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff throughout our stay. We noticed a significant improvement in this regard and an also in the condition of the hotel since our previous visit last year. The new Spa is fantastic, especially the outdoor jacuzzi. Lovely grounds and views. A very nice hotel and a great base from which to visit the island.

My husband went to Guernsey for a few days work and I tagged along with my 10 week old daughter. The hotel and room were superb and this would have undoubtedly been a 5 if not for the irritating pool rules about when children could go in and the snooty woman on spa reception. All other staff were friendly, approachable and very attentive. The restaurant and room service were great and we had a lovely holiday.

We had a lovely four night break here, staying in an executive room on level three where the terrace opened on to a larger area overlooking the lake and grounds. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped, with ironing board and iron, a fridge, a safe and even a coffee making machine and DVD player, together with the usual TV, hairdryer etc. The hospitality tray (with biscuits) had a good selection of quality products and was re-stocked daily. The bed was large and very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was spacious, with a lovely waterfall shower over the bath, good quality toiletries and plenty of shelf space to put your own bits and pieces. We were staying half board and enjoyed all the food, but the breakfast, as has been mentioned many times in these reviews, is truly exceptional. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, particularly those on reception. There is so much to see and do on this lovely island and we are looking forward to returning next year.

We have stopped at this hotel many times, it keeps getting better. The Spa centre has been recently refurbished, the rest of the hotel is to follow. The food is of good quality without becoming pretentious and over fussy. The rooms are large with lovely views. It is close enough to walk into town but feels as though it is more rural.
The staff are lovely, you are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. We look forward to returning.

Spent a week here during a very busy time, moving home and having builders in to do alterations. The hotel is in the middle of Guernsey and is set in its own parkland, with a lovely lake. We had an Executive Room which had a huge double bed, so comfortable. There are three or four restaurants which serve excellent food. In the hotel there is a gym, with a full range of equipment, as well as a beautiful pool and spa. There is a sauna, steam room and an outdoor heated Jacuzzi. This was amazing to use in mid-November.
Guernsey is not as lovely as Jersey, in our opinion, but there are many places to visit. There is an excellent bus service for which the fare is £1 every journey. A 2 hour trip round Guernsey costs £1.
What made our stay really special was the friendly and helpful attitude of all the hotel staff, from the managers down to the cleaning staff. All were cheerful and always willing to help.

From booking, arrival to departure the hotel staff in all areas could not have been more helpful.

Arranged with the hotel reception pre-arrival that the hotel's courtesy transport would collect and return us at the airport on arrival/departure for our stay - extremely efficient service.

Room/suite was very spacious, clean and extremely well serviced. Room service very prompt when used if only a little expensive - £3.80 for a litre of water!

Booked on a bed and breakfast arrangement, the breakfast was wholesome but left a little bit to be desired if left to dine at the end of the allotted time (rock hard black puddings, congealed fried and scrambled eggs, etc.

Dined in the Victor Hugo and Pavilion restaurants and in the main received exceptional service and high quality dishes for evening meals. Also used the Pavilion restaurant for lunchtime meals the staff in here were very attentive.

Used the hotel's pool, sauna and hot tub facilities following a brief by a member of the facilities team, very impressive.
