Did you know that in Surrey, more than 80,000 of the region's 681,000 working population have mental health needs?

While many people do respond well to treatment and medication, and are able to recover without too much damage being done to their working and personal lives, others are less fortunate and find the road to recovery very difficult.

Established in 1997 and based in Guildford, Oakleaf Enterprise was established to provide people with mental health issues with the support, advice and skills they need to lead independent, fulfilling lives.

Further Education and Employment

Finding and keeping a job or gaining qualifications that will lead to meaningful employment is an important part of the recovery process.

Why? Work strengthens dignity and independence. It can restore confidence and self-esteem and lead to a fulfilling productive life.

However, we understand that the barriers facing people with mental health needs are considerable. Therefore, Oakleaf Enterprise provides a comprehensive 'Back to Work' service, which has helped hundreds of people gain qualifications and employment in:

 · IT Training and Print

· Horticulture

· Upholstery

· Mailing and Packing

In addition to vocational training, Oakleaf Enterprise provides a breadth of social inclusion activities ranging from Tai Chi, to dance, to confidence courses, to language classes.

Job Club

From our premises on Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Oakleaf Enterprise runs a Job Club, which provides computers will full internet access, telephones and faxes.

From helping people with their CV to completing application forms; writing covering letters to interview practice; our trained, experienced Employment Advisors are on hand at all times to support and assist clients. If required, we can also accompany clients to job interviews.

Social Enterprise

Oakleaf also operates as a social enterprise, selling high quality upholstery, gardening and print finishing and fulfilment services at competitive rates. These services form a critical part of the support and training that Oakleaf provides for its clients.
