Bibliophiles unite - it's nearly the Guildford Book Festival!
18th September 2012

The annual Guildford book Festival is taking place from 18 to 27 October, celebrating a wide range of bookiness - not only fiction but also science, art and history.

There'll be many authors talking about their work: Salley Vickers and Andrew Martin,  crime writers Tania Carver and Nicci French, comediennes-cum-writers Jenny Eclair and Sandi Toksvig to name but a few.

Ben Miller (as in Armstrong and Miller) is also a particle physicist and he'll be at Guildford University talking about The Best Bits of Science. Dr Jim Al-Khalili, decorated theoretical physicist whose doctorate is from the University of Surrey, will be looking at sciences greatest enigmas.

Will Gompertz, the BBCs art editor, will be asking What Are You Looking At?  and examining the history and appeal (or lack thereof) of modern art.

In addition, therell be  writing workshops, a debate about e-books (which I might go to -  my anti-Kindle stance is only going to make me look silly one day!) and children's events.

For a full timetable and lots more, please visit the Guildford Book Festival website! Might see you there. . . .
