Listening to the Breakfast Show on Radio 2 this week I heard Chris Evans say that he and Jonny Saunders were going to be shooting clays and static targets as part of their Breakfast Show Sporting Challenge series. This was to take place on Wednesday and they were driving there straight after the show at 09:30.
Putting 2 and 2 together I came up with the answer of Bisley. Where else, I thought, could they shoot shotguns and rifles within an easy drive of London?
I knew George Digweed, world FITASC champion was going to be coaching them at clay shooting so I popped up to the National Clay Shooting Centre on Wednesday morning and sure enough he was there.
Shortly after I got my gear out of the car Chris arrived and it was just a matter of waiting until the shooting started while thinking up an excuse to be there!
It all went very well with lots of fun and laughter but it was far too cold to hang around for long.
I have no idea who won the contest so you will have to listen to the Breakfast Show on Friday if you want to know.
