Last year, the EU brought out an e-privacy directive about cookies. This was to ensure that all web users were aware that non-essential cookies were being dropped onto their PCs, tablets and other devices, that they acknowledged them and agreed with them before continuing to browse the website.
Does your company website comply?
If you think it might not, all is not lost. The EU has given companies until 26 May to bring their cookie policies up to date. The Surrey Chamber of Commerce and TWM Solicitors have got together to provide a template policy available to Surrey businesses for just £150. Click here to find out more or email Jamie Berry on jamie.berry@twmsolicitors.com with your questions.
If by 26 May you have not made any necessary changes to your cookies policy, you could be fined £500,000. Take action TODAY.
