Next month – 5-26 March 2011 – sees the 11th Guildford International Music Festival.
This biennial celebration of live music features world famous names and exhilarating, uplifting and engrossing musical entertainment.
And this year is no exception with over 60 events making up the programme.
Featured artists include: John Williams; Paco Peña; Sir Willard White; Nicola Benedetti; Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and Claire Martin; Red Priest; Bollywood Brass Band; Henri Oguike Dance Company; Warsaw Village Band; Pluck; The Bloomsbury Boys.
As Pauline Johnson, festival director, notes:
“There is a real buzz around the town during the festival as venues, theatres and pubs join together to celebrate live music. Artists tell us they love coming to Guildford because of the enthusiastic and warm responses they receive from audiences and after most events there is the chance to meet the artists and chat to them.”
