Guildford to host Women’s Rugby World Cup
Rugby World Cup Limited has officially launched Women's Rugby World Cup 2010 and announced that while the final, semi-final and bronze final will be played at Twickenham Stoop, all other matches will be played at Guildford’s Surrey Sports Park.
The new multi-sport facility will host all 12 teams for the duration of the tournament from 20 August to 5 September. The qualified teams will spend three weeks living, training and performing at the venue and all match and training pitches, accommodation, catering, physiotherapy and team rooms will be supplied and maintained by Surrey Sports Park.
This is a real coup for the town and recognition that its state-of-the-art sports venue is one of the best in the country.
