Last week my husband and I fancied a quick bite after work in a relaxed informal setting.
Let’s try Jamie’s in Guildford he suggested, which for the past year we have attempted to visit several times only to be put off by the lengthy queues and no bookings policy.
This time, however, was different; there was no queue, a choice of tables, and apparently they are now taking Monday to Friday lunchtime bookings – essential for the business lunch meeting where certainty is a must.
So, was it worth the year long wait? Most definitely.
The food was excellent and flexible – I chose the tagliatelle special with some vegetarian friendly adaptations which the chef was happy to accommodate – as was the service via our cheerful and attentive waiter, Mario.
If you’re thinking of going, I recommend you start your meal with their own fresh bread basket and a glass of Prosecco – delizioso!
