The organisers of the New Haw and Woodham Midsummer Event are very excited to release the action-packed timetable for Saturday, 23rd June.
11.00: The first day of the Midsummer Event kicks off with a procession of local people and businesses.
11.30: Street Dance display
12.00: Grand Opening with Max Clifford
12.10: Weybourne Gymnastics Club will be showing off the skills of their members in a 20 minute display. Weybourne Gymnastics Club is long established organisation based in New Haw. It provides not only excellent training for gymnasts of all ages but also lots of fun!
12.30: Visitors will be flocking to the Main Arena for one of the high points of the day: a stunt show by On The Edge. The professional stunt team will be letting us in on some of the secrets of planning and choreography before demonstrating high falls, fights and pyrotechnics in a thrilling display of daredevilry!. Exciting stuff.
12.50: Bishop David Brown School Steel Band will be performing. This Sheerwater school specialises in performing arts and the steel band was formed six years ago. They play a varied repertoire adapted to suit the sound of the steel pans - I have been lucky enough to hear them before and they really are outstanding!
13.10: Celtic Fringe
13.30: Bishop David Brown School Steel Band will be back for another set!
13.50: On The Edge Stunt Show, in case you missed the first one or just had to see it again!
14.10: Students from the Jenny Reeds School of Dance will be performing. The long-established dance school is based in Brookwood where pupils learn ballet, tap, modern and jazz.
14.30: Richard Johnstone (singer)
14.50: Zumba
15.10: Choir - watch this space for more details!
