Image Retouching
I am often asked if I can retouch portrait photographs I take.
The short answer is yes and as much as I dislike spending more time than I need to at the pc I realise that Photoshop is the 21st century darkroom.
However, take a look at the image on the right. I have deliberately over processed this image to demonstrate what we see a lot of every day in magazines. Skin is smooth beyond recognition and natural features disappear.
I'm not sure many of my customers would want their skin to look like that so what I aim to do is reduce lines and wrinkles without losing them completely. It is then not immediately apparent that the image has been retouched but the customer likes what they see.
I have included a before and after example below to show that by using the right techniques, retouching can result in a much more natural looking image than people expect.
