This Saturday, 26 October, Ripley is holding its annual bonfire. Already an important date on the calendar for many families in the Guildford area, this year's event promises to be a fantastic afternoon and evening out!
The festivities begin at 2pm when Benson's Funfair opens! The barbecue pits are lit at 3pm for the slow roasting of lamb and pork and the bar opens at 5pm. Hot food, including the pork and lamb, will be served from 6pm.
At 6.15pm, the floats assemble in the car park and at 6.30pm, the fancy dress competition begins in the village hall. Prizes for the best float and costume will be presented at 6.45pm.
At 7.10pm, the newly crowned Bonfire Queen will lead the torchlit procession with the bonfire being lit at 7.30pm.
The firework display will take place at 8pm. Please note that the bar will be closed for the duration of the display but it opens again at 8.20pm when the live music begins.

This is going to be yet another great family outing - see you there!
