Do you still believe in Santa? I bet your children do, anyway! Here are some of the places you can take them to meet Father Christmas in winter 2013. By the way, don’t be surprised at him being in so many places at once – he’s practicing for Christmas Eve!
Bocketts Farm
Santa will be at Bocketts Farm from 28 November until Christmas Eve (when, of course, we have to release him for serious present-delivering duties). Ride the Santa Express and go and play in his magical hay barn too! Here’s the website – check it out for more details and to make your booking. Price: £5.95 per child + entry to the farm.
Polesden Lacey
Father Christmas is coming as part of the seasonal festivities at this lovely National Trust property. There’ll be sleigh rides and a chance to find out more about the Three Kings who visited Polesden Lacey. The house will be decorated for Christmas and you can do a bit of Christmas shopping in the gift shop too! Weekends from 30 November until 22 December. Price: Adult £4, child £2, family £10 + entry to the house.
Sandown Racecourse
I don’t know if you’ll be shocked or delighted to learn that Santa loves a little flutter now and then! Don’t judge him though - it’s only once a year, it’s just a bit of fun and best of all, it means that he’ll be at Sandown Racecourse on Saturday 7 December! It’s the Tingle Creek Christmas Festival with not just horse racing but also fun for all the family with carol singing and festive Victorian attractions as well as the man himself. Please see the website for more information and to make your booking. Prices from £19.50
Rural Life Centre, Farnham
On 7&8 December and 14&15 December, you can come and visit Father Christmas at the Rural Life Centre in Farnham. Ride on the railway and visit Santa’s gnomes (If you’re wondering about the elves...well, a puff of wind would blow them away! Gnomes are more robust, especially with Arctic working conditions) and enjoy the rest of the museum while you’re there. Visit the website here to book early! Price: Children £11, adults £7.
Denbies Wine Estate
Santa will be in his grotto at Denbies from 25 November until Christmas Eve, 24 December, waiting to give out presents and sticker books. There’ll also be lots of craft activities for the children to get stuck into – a lovely day out for the Christmas holidays! Click here for more information and to make your booking. Price £7.25 per child.
Brooklands Museum
While he does love his red and green sleigh, Santa has always had a secret hankering for a plane. Maybe a VC10, for example. But what’s that? Brooklands Museum has very, very kindly let him use their VC10 for the festive period. Well, that’s what I call generous. Come and see Santa – in the VC10 – at Brooklands Museum on 7 December 2013. Book early to avoid disappointment. Price: £5.50 + museum admission price.
