Christmas is well and truly upon us and I too have succumbed to all things festive by filling my diary this week with local Yuletide events.
On Thursday (19 November) the Guildford Christmas lights switch-on kicks off with several events planned including musical performances, street entertainers, novelty stalls and a visit from Santa himself. The official switch-on will take place at 7pm led by Gethin Jones, star of the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre pantomime, followed by a firework finale. More fireworks – I can’t wait!
I’m then off to the very stylish sounding Surrey Style Christmas Event being held at the Guildford Cathedral Refectory from 6-9pm for a fabulous evening of fashion, food, gifts and glamour. All exhibitors are local hand-picked businesses providing everything from fine wines to designer handbags and custom-made jewellery. And as if that wasn’t enough, my next stop will be the Loseley Park Crafts and Gifts for Christmas Show running from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November. This Christmas fair promises an array of handmade, elegant and luxurious gifts – perfect for the person who has everything. Of particular interest will be the limited edition abstract canvas art from professional photographer Joanna Weston. Joanna’s business, Jobox Photography, is about to celebrate six successful months and she will be offering 20% off to all visitors to her stand who place an order.
