The Best Of...’s 2014 campaign, Local and Loved, launched on Saturday and runs until Valentine’s Day, 14 February. The campaign is all about making local businesses feel loved, valuing the difference they make and maybe even winning a prize! Customers are asked to leave reviews on pink Local and Loved cards and show just how much they love their local businesses. Every reviewer is entered into a prize draw and could win £100!
If you’re a business owner, you’ve probably already got your Local and Loved review cards, posters and bunting – your office should be looking very pink indeed! Everyone at the Best Of... wants you to have the recognition you deserve so do encourage your customers and clients to leave you some kind words. The most loved business in each category will be invited to the Local Ball and Loved in March as well as getting lots of publicity.
If you’re a customer, look up your favourite business on the Best of Guildford and leave a review if you haven’t already done so. Every day until 14 February, one lucky review-writer wins a prize so submit yours PDQ.
Now, I know it’s early days and we’re not quite at fever pitch yet (remember last year, folks?) but at time of writing, tea time on Monday 3 February, the Guildford Love-O-Meter looks like this:
3. Guildford Fringe Theatre Company with 30 reviews
2. Chantries Estate Agents with 31 reviews
1. Finicky Shirts with 32 reviews! Hurrah! (I’m sure there’s a way to make heart-shaped confetti burst out of a computer but I haven’t worked it out yet)
Now, the national love-o-meter toppers have over a thousand reviews so...you know...well, you don’t need me to spell it out, do you? Can you get more love than a chip shop in Hampshire?! Course you can!
Well done to some lucky winners too: Janet S from Worthing and Lindsay P from Worcester both won £100 at the weekend reviewing the 5rings Group and the Wild Oak Pub respectively. There’s another £100 up for grabs today so get your reviews in sharpish for your chance to win.
Right, lovelies, that’s it from me for now but I’ll be posting daily updates throughout the Local and Loved campaign. Sally talked me into it. Goodness knows how. Must be all that love in the air....
