They know that everyone’s experience is different. That’s why they are there to offer support and information and campaign for better care. Whether someone wants to speak to their nurses, read reliable information or connect with someone who’s faced the same challenges, Breast Cancer Care will help them live life with breast cancer and beyond.
But they can’t do it without your help.
Breast Cancer Care are looking for smiley, friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help bucket collect during October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
They need 6 volunteers for 2 time slots, in the morning between 7:30-9:30am and in the evening between 5:00-7:00pm.
They’ll provide you with everything you need to bucket collect including tabards, (optional!) pink fancy dress items and of course those all important buckets! Below is when and where they need you.
Friday 2nd December – London Bridge Station
Friday 9th December – London Farringdon Station
Thursday 15th December – London Cannon Street Station
Friday 16th October – London Blackfriars Station
Alan is one of our regular bucket collectors who volunteers with a team of his colleagues from HSBC (second left in image)
“It’s a great way of getting so many of my colleagues involved and brilliant fun dressing up and being cheeky for a good cause. The best thing about volunteering is that it isn’t dependent on your fitness level- anyone can do it! It doesn’t matter how much time you can spare, a few hours or even just one hour, you will have made a difference.”
By volunteering at one station for just 2 hours, you could raise up to £450. This could give 40 younger women with breast cancer the expert support of a specialist nurse and a chance to meet other women at our two day Younger Women Together event.
If you, your friends, family or colleagues within your company are interested in volunteering at our bucket collection, please call Robyn in the Community Fundraising Team on 020 7960 3560 or email fundraising.south@breastcancercare.org.uk
