As you may have heard supermarket chain Asda proposes to build a new store in Wetherby. With a sales area of 25,000 sq. ft. a petrol station and a 265 space car park the store would create more than 200 new jobs.
The store will be located at a site on the A168 Hudson Way next to Sandbeck Industrial Estate. A previous exhibition took place in March of this year and after the positive response it has been decided the second would be held in the north of the town, where the new store would be located.
Phillip Bartram, Senior Property Communications Manager said of the exhibition, "We've been very pleased with the response so far from Wetherby residents, but we are keen to ensure that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to air their views. This is especially the case in the north of the town, where the new store would be located, and this is why we have chosen to hold a second exhibition in that area."
This is where you, the local people of Wetherby come in, the proposed build can only go ahead with your support so if you want to get behind the project and improve your community get down to the exhibition and show your support, find out more, give ideas and meet like-minded members of your local area!
If you wish to attend the exhibition will be held at Deighton Gate Primary School on September 19 from 1pm to 7pm
