Harrogate town centre gets ready to bloom again after a long winter.
A continued partnership between Harrogate in Bloom and Harrogate Borough Council means local businesses can once again have the opportunity to add to the town's floral show by hanging baskets outside their premises.
For just £88 per basket, the council's award winning Parks and Environmental Services Team will grow the plants, produce and hang the baskets, water and maintain them and remove at the end of summer.
As well as urging businesses to take part this year, President of Harrogate in Bloom, Pam Grant, wants to thank those who took part last year when Harrogate won Yorkshire in Bloom. She added: "Visitors, both business and leisure, are vital to the local economy so as always we are trying to ensure that the town looks its best over the months ahead. Our flower beds, parks and gardens are always stunning but the hanging baskets at shops, cafes, restaurants and offices are always popular and do add something to the front of business premises.
"With subsidy by the council and voluntary administrative support from Harrogate in Bloom, costs remain at a very competitive rate of £88 per basket. We hope businesses will agree this is excellent value."
There are 134 baskets available under this scheme so any interested business should ask now for an order form by emailing Lynne Mee, Harrogate in Bloom hanging basket co-ordinator, at mee.lynne2@gmail.com
As the council will be growing the plants from seed, we need orders in by no later than Friday, 4 March.
The baskets will be put in place at the end of May/early June and will be taken down late September. ENDS
