Learn a few tricks to help you relax in 2016

Perhaps you have a New Year’s resolution, or several?  Maybe you want to quit smoking, reduce your alcohol intake, detox, lose some weight or even find a new job?  Perhaps you want to join a sports challenge like a marathon or save money to do some home improvement or go on a holiday?

We have written several blogs on many of these subjects that will help you achieve your goals.

However, here are some top tips to keep you focused and stress-free:

  • Try meditating.  It’s a way to focus and relax and help you keep calm. Here are some apps that will help you along the way.

  • Get a massage – you can choose aromatherapy, reflexology or even go for a facial.

  • Exercise – release those endorphins!

  • Have a bath

  • Read  a book, get away from all our electronic gadgets

  • Challenge yourself – write 10 goals of things you want to achieve and put them into a jar on New Year’s Eve and then re-open the jar at the end of the year to see if you achieved them.

  • Try something new – a recipe, a sport, a new hobby like painting or dancing

  • Accept the things you can’t change – you know the saying: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.”

  • Take some time for yourself!

  • Stay healthy – get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, eat well and exercise
