Are you visiting the Stockeld Park Halloween Adventure?

We went this week and had a great time.  The staff are always friendly and do their best to help you in whatever way they can.

During the Halloween season it differs to the Summer Adventure in that instead of buying a wristbands that gives you access to all the zones, you can pay to go into each zone individually or you can choose to buy a day pass which gives you access to all the zones: Illuminated Enchanted Forest, Nordic Ski Trail, Real Ice Rink and fun-filled Maze.

The zones are also different to Summer, for example:

1.    The Maze – this is about the only zone which is similar, but it’s illuminated as it gets dark. Find musical instruments, hear interesting sounds and discover the Castle Viewing Tower.

2.    The ‘Illuminated’ Enchanted Forest – this is probably the best zone to visit.  The path is wide and suitable for prams and pushchairs.  As it gets dark you discover a whole new set of characters that are illuminated, like the red dragon and the Ice Queen.  Your summer favorites are still there - Rapunzel, the Witch, the troll, the giant, the fairies & goblins, little red riding hood, and our personal favorite, the talking tree, to name but a few.  The children can still enjoy all the themed playgrounds along the way.  Haflway through, you can still enjoy a refreshment at Gretel’s cabin, but there are no longer toilets available during the Halloween season, so do go before going on the walk.  During Halloween half term, you get the added bonus of access to a free Witches Trail with riddles and magical challenges as well as friendly Wise Witches to talk to. (26-30 Oct)

3.    Real Ice Rink – What was the roller skating rink, is magically transformed in to a real ice rink. Helmets and pads offered free of charge with your blades. They are even doing a ‘Disco on Ice’ every Friday until the 1st of Jan from 6.30 to 8.30pm.  Make sure to wrap up warm and bring waterproofs.  Penguins are avail on a first come, first serve basis for children under a certain height.  Children under 4 should not skate. All children under 8 should be accompanied.

4.    Nordic Ski Trail – what was the electric scooter trail is now used as a Nordic ski trail. (cross country skiing) which is great exercise and also a chance for you to experience skiing, if you haven’t done so already.

They still do have the outdoor playground area and Woodlands Café which is spooktacularly themed for Halloween, as well as the Christmas Shop (which was the Magical Gift Emporium).

Inside you can still enjoy access to a Wendy house and wooden train with lego.  Look out for face painting and glitter tattoos (extra charge).

There are also loads of great events like the Wizard’s Den 24-30 Oct, the Wizard & Witch Training 26-30 Oct, Fright Night 29-31 Oct, Halloween Catwalk 24-30 Oct, Creepy Creatures & Craft Area 31 Oct &  the Fireworks display on the 1st November.  (all extra charge)

The pumpkin patch has now sold out.

Happy Halloween!
