You’d be surprised how all the stuff around you can weigh you down. Getting rid of all the clutter in your home will help you focus on enjoying the stuff you really love. Less is more.
Once you have decided on what you are going to get rid of, you can sell it, donate it, recycle it or throw it away. Harrogate has several places where you can dispose of your clutter.
The best way to start to de-clutter is by finding all the items that you have that are in the same group – for example, all your medicine, all you spices, all your shoes, you get the picture... and sort them one pile at a time.
Go through all your medicines and get rid of anything that has expired. Same thing goes for make-up and creams and food, for more info on food expiration dates click here.
Get rid of any clothes that have holes in them or that you are saving for “when you” (i.e. when you lose weight). Only keep clothes that you love. You’d be surprised how great if feels to de-clutter your wardrobe. Harrogate has Facebook groups specific to selling clothes as well as great car boots.
Look for unwanted toys, books and games with missing pieces, again, Harrogate has great Facebook groups for selling or donating these items.
Get rid of old technology.
Get rid of documents you no longer need. Click here for info on what to keep for how long.
Get rid of any items that bring you sadness, for example a gift from someone who was not very nice to you. Each time you see it you will be subliminally reminded of them.
