Wetherby Runners certainly put their best foot forward for the final race in the Harrogate Summer Race League this month, winning a historic three team trophies for the club.
The five mile race covered difficult (and muddy!) terrain but was well supported by the clubs close to the top of each team table, all hoping for the coveted team trophies.
Wetherby's strong men's team produced the winning formula, giving them points to the top table and securing the trophy for the first time in the club's history.
The ladies competition was equally fierce but the Wetherby team battled it out with the other entrants to bag the trophy for the third successive year. The Wetherby Ladies open team clinched the runner up trophy.
The excellent turnout for Wetherby helped to secure a second place finish in the main ten team competition and secure the third place in the overall league - the best ever main team result for the club!
