Cannot rate this little venue high enough. Staff are excellent, variety of shows are great and reasonably priced.
Would recommend to friends and family.

What a grand landmark in the Hastings and surrounding area. Showcasing amazing shows all year long! They don't just have fantastic shows but the staff are lovely too. They're always friendly and smiley faced who are efficient in their job. I love the White Rock and my star rating shows that!

We just saw what is perhaps the best live performance I have ever seen anywhere on the globe here at this small, but lovely theatre.

The Richard Darbourne production of 'Pride and Prejudice', starring Joannah Tincey & Nick Underwood was extraordinarily wonderful. For two actors to carry off 21 roles - and to do it so convincingly and with such conviction and complete habitation in each and every role - even when changing characters mid-sentence - this is truly one of the most memorable theatre experiences of all time.

As for the theatre itself, it is a delightful 1920s building that has retained much of its original character.

The staff are all lovely! Truly, I could not fault one of them.

The restaurant is delightful, although the food was a little disappointing, but in light of how glorious the rest of the evening was, it was a minor detail.

All in all, I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Went to see Doctor Hook featuring Dennis Locorriere. What a great show. No support act just Dennis and the band covering the evening from 7.30pm until 10.20pm with only a short interval. Fantastic value for money. Great musicians, great vocal harmonies and a wonderfully tight overall sound. Additionally, Dennis was extremely entertaining. He connected fully with his audience. I recommend this show. Nice theatre. Great staff.

We have always found the white rock theatre a great place we usually have a drink in the ground floor bar before a show
But this evening we went to the upstairs bar it was terrible
Staff did not know what they were doing only one lager tap was working and this was un drinkable a load of un satisfied customers had returned the beer will never use again
But the show was great

Was really impressed with this theatre - our first visit. Being disabled, a lovely member of staff showed us to our seats and explained where we could leave my rollator. Great seats, as advised when booking. Even sitting in the stools on the flat (Row H), we had a good view of the stage. Venue and facilities are easily accessed. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. All in all a very good evening. We shall return. Thank you White Rock.

Visited this theatre for the first time with my disabled wife. Staff could not have been more kind and helpful. Although where we say was on level seating stage view was not restricted. Show was excellent with good sound quality and lighting. Happy to recommend this theatre to anyone .

I booked tickets as a spur of the moment thing on Thursday evening and got two of the very last few tickets to see "THE REAL THING AND ODYSSEY" the first part of the show with ODYSSEY was fantastic with all our favourite hits and songs to sing and dance along to. But then came the main act "THE REAL THING" They were far from the real thing. I'll be perfectly honest with you and say ODYSSEY were "the real thing" last night. I'm not going to mention what I thought of the real thing only that I was left disappointed that odyssey didn't stay on the whole night.

First time at the theatre and dispite other comments we found the seats to be comfortable & roomy - we were in the stalls so cannot comment on the circle. We went to see The Counterfeit Sixties show & I must say it was brilliant. The front of house staff were very helpful so no complaints there. We had something to eat in the in house restaurant, what a disappointment. They had only 22 people in, all arriving around 6:00pm. Food started to arrive about 6:40 to the first table & that was sent back, one was to cold & the other had the wrong chips, should have been skinny chips & it came out with chunky chips. The menu has 11 main dishes of which 3 are vegetarian so 8 for the meat eaters, 4 of these were not available so only half the meat options were on. We went for the burger topped with cheese, well the bun had just been defrosted so was stone cold, no hint of toasting it, the cheese was placed on the top not put under a grill & melted & the BBQ sauce was just shop bought.
So my tip is go to the theatre & enjoy whatever you see but find a nice place to eat before hand & avoid the in house restaurant.

My wife and I were staying in the hotel next to this theatre and after the preview the cast and their friends went to the hotel bar. After talking to them we decided to see the play - Lotty's War. The booking office staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the play and on giving advice on what to see in Hastings. The performance was excellent with good acting and a tight script. The play covered five years and time was covered in a an innovative way. The theatre is very well decorated and seats comfortable. The only disappointment was the small audience which was less than a quarter capacity. Tickets were at least £20 which I consider to be expensive and may be the reason for the small audience. Theatres need to be flexible on pricing because a large audience adds to the experience. Remember you can get into the Globe in London for £5. Having said that we had an enjoyable evening.

I absolutely love the fact that we have such a beautiful local theatre that has a diverse and high quality programme. I attended the Opera & Ballet International’s production of Puccini’s Tosca last night and feel so grateful that I can see top quality live entertainment on this scale in my home town. The orchestra and the vocalists were fantastic and the Gin wasn’t bad either. Thank you for continuing to entertain and stimulate.

went to see Jools Holland on thurs 28th Apr hadn't been to this theatre before. partner said drink prices were quite high but aren't they in most theatres!.The seating was the worst we have ever come across my partner who is over 6ft his knees were into the seat in front no room to move what so ever and no space at all. i am only 4ft 10 and even i felt we was very cramped!. many people around us was complaing we were sitting in the circle row E.Also no mention when the first act had finished that there was an interval we was just left wondering?! and sitting for quite a while could at least been a tannoy announcement??.the concert was excellent really enjoyed but seating awful don't know if we will be back unless we can find seats that accommodate 'taller' people.

This Theatre has been here for many years and is constantly being refurbished but always looks the same when finished!

For some reason there is a booking fee for all tickets even if you book and pay at the box office and Pay cash - something even the Top West End Theatres stopped doing a long time ago

The seats are okay but leg room can be a problem - and I'm not too tall myself!

Staff are ok although some can be brash and some ushers rather noisy and chatty during performances - something which would be a complete no no in other Theatres

The cost of some performances matches the west end theatres for shows such as copy bands and this can be a turn off

Parking is on the street or in a small underground car park

Needs some more atmosphere in the building and a splash of colour

I had a wonderful time at Mister Maker Live show .. I won family tickets on Best Of Hastings website and was so happy to be able to take my friends. I had a great spot for my wheelchair and the staff who work there are always so lovely! I sang along to all the music and laughed at all the funny bits. I had the biggest smile on my face throughout the show. The White Rock Theatre is one of my favourite places to go and Ithe shows are always so exciting! I like having a cup of tea in the cafe too. I'm looking forward to going again soon!

I attended the Hastings Music Festival Brass day yesterday and cannot praise the staff at the White Rock enough. The Box office staff were friendly and very helpful as I needed a few different tickets for the festival. The lovely Jan who was on the door controlling access did so enthusiasm and careful thought, ensuring the performers were not interrupted. He manner towards the children and their families was perfect. This beautiful building holds this event each year and does so very well indeed.

Add it to your To Do list. High quality competitors, mesmerising playing. We do agree, however, about the snack bar... hardly had time to eat as it took so long to get the food. Pity,as the rest of the experience was great.

I attended the theatre for a talk on serial killers, given by an ex-murder squad detective. The talk was very interesting, although I would have preferred it if he had confined his remarks to the subject at hand and not used the occasion as a hobbyhorse to promote capital punishment.
We had drinks in the bar beforehand and it is a very attractive area.
