From Friday 2nd December, the retailers, bars and restaurants from the West Hill Arcade, along George Street right through the High Street and on Courthouse Street will be open for the evenings from 5.00 – 8.00pm, offering the good people of Hastings a wealth of gift ideas, special offers and tempting treats.
Festive fun for all!
On Friday 2nd December, we are delighted to have local celebrities launching the Hastings Old Town Three Nights of Christmas event and through the evening there will be Circus Jugglers, a Gypsy quartet and stomping beats from the Section 5 drummers.
Saturday evening sees the arrival of Father Christmas in the Old Town in a pony and trap (not enough snow for his reindeer and sleigh). He will set off from The Albion around 4.30pm and will eventually settle in his grotto at Sweet Cheeks on the High Street, opposite Swan Gardens.
Bring your kids along to tell Father Christmas what is on their wish list and they can then choose a gift bag. £1 per child.
The Hastings Singers will be performing at Butlers Gap. South American rhythms will be performed by Sambalanca, our local Samba drumming group.
Sunday promises to be a magical conclusion to the weekend, with pubs, restaurants and shops all lit by candlelight.
The haunting sound of bagpipes will fill the streets, as the Buckswood School pipe band entertains the crowds from the West Hill Arcade. During the early evening, the school's choir will be encouraging shoppers to sing along with popular Christmas carols.
The 'Thriller' flash mob will be, well, doing that in Butler's Gap at 6pm, so practice your moves and join in.
The Shady Pines singers will be doing their thing in Swan Gardens on the High Street at the same time.
On Sunday evening around 6:30, Father Christmas will take a short break from compiling his gift list to conduct the draw for the main raffle.
