The White Rock Theatre in Hastings prides itself on being a focal point for cultural entertainment in the area, with wonderful live shows and performances to entertain us. It's a fantastic venue that's helping to shape and develop the next generation of stars.
The Youth Theatre offers high-quality training in all theatre styles in a fun, relaxed yet professional environment for 8 to 16 year olds. Their super talented and experienced team offer everything from improvisation to musical theatre - where better to learn the craft of the dramatic arts than in our very own White Rock Theatre?!
The Youth Theatre at the White Rock runs from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays during term time. It provides the perfect platform for youngsters to work with their peers to produce a performance that they then showcase to friends and families at the end of each term. The focus is very much on fun and enjoyment and training is offered to everyone who is involved.
Young people who have a passion for theatre and performing arts and would like to join in the fun are advised to contact the White Rock Youth Theatre directly.
The White Rock Theatre runs popular theatre projects throughout the Easter and Summer holidays, allowing children between the ages of 8 and 18 to experience putting on a professional stage show whilst performing on the fabulous theatre stage alongside established actors and dancers.
There's even an opportunity for the little ones to get involved through the White Rock Tiddlers which runs every Saturday during term time for children aged 4 to 7. It's the perfect way to introduce them to the wonder of creative play through drama, dance and music.
Outside of all the youth activities at The White Rock, this week is an exciting one with the international piano concerto semi finals running all week, and the finals taking place on March 2nd and 3rd.
Next week sees the annual school choirs for Hastings Music Festival 2018 taking place too.
The White Rock Theatre seats 1066 people - 1066 of course being the year in which the Battle of Hastings took place!
The Theatre is on two levels with stalls and a circle and the building has been adapted over time to make the theatre as accessible as possible for people in wheelchairs, with guide dogs and those with hearing impairments.
Visitors can also explore backstage in tours groups of 8-30 people free of charge, provided this is organised in advance.
