Announcing... BARNUM!
The White Rock Theatres well known and much loved Summer Youth Project returns for another fantastic year, and this time round, it's going to be bigger and better than ever.
Barnum tells the story of the Prince of Humbug, Phineas Taylor Barnum. Over the objections of his wife, Charity, Barnum attempts to create a show in which the main attractions are freaks of society.
The Summer Youth Project has been going for many years. Over the course of two weeks the cast spend time learning dance routines, songs, and scenes. Putting on a fabulous near-professional production by the end of week 2. Make new friends, learn new things and have a bucket load of fun!
''I had participated in the projects many times when I was younger, I have learnt so much and made so many friends from it all. I am still in the 'theatre world' today, and I often find myself looking back at what I learnt during these projects. I've gained confidence and skills I never would of thought possible for myself. I'm still in contact with the friends I made and the shows are always amazing. Overall I am actually sad I cannot continue to do more of them!'' - Cheyenne, 6-year SYP Member.
