Haverhill played in a mixed friendly match away at Bourn on Saturday 24th October. The Haverhill Team managed to halve two of the matches, however the overall result was a comprehensive win for the hosts 5-1. The match results were: Andy & Lyn Fish lost 2&1, Theresa Spittle & Spencer Tatum lost 4&2, Sheila & Gordon Price match halved, Carol & Jim Day match halved, Ann & Harry Thomspon lost 3&2 and finally Doreen & Brian Crosbee lost 4&3.
Two Haverhill Juniors, Josh Hulyer and James Iron enjoyed a successful day when they competed in the Gog Magog Junior Masters on Monday 26th October. The event was played over 18 holes on the Wandlebury Course with a field of 36 juniors, aged under 13 years old, taking part. Josh finished 2nd in the overall stableford competition with 37pts, and James finished 3rd with 36pts.
The Ladies Daily Mail Foursomes qualifier was played on Saturday 31st October. The winners for the second year running were Lady Captain Sheila Price and Anna Fairhead with a score of 35pts. In 2nd place were Lyn Fish and Jackie Condon with 31pts and in 3rd place were Denise Walker and Sally Price with 30pts. Sheila and Anna will go onto represent Haverhill in the Daily Mail’s national event which starts in March 2016.
