Christmas is well and truly upon us now and everywhere seems to be having a Christmas fair of some kind. I went slightly out of town at the weekend to visit Haverhill's nearest Castle, Hedingham Castle. Myself, my husband and the twins all went along to see what festive treats they had in store for us and we were not disappointed. Leading up to the castle itself was a large marquee with several craft stalls inside, whilst inside the castle there were interesting things to see and do on all floors. In the dungeon, Father Christmas was in his grotto giving all the boys and girls a present, whilst on the first floor there were refreshments being sold in the cafe/shop area. The second floor had a selection of more craft and food stalls whilst the craft table on the top floor was our favourite. We made Santa faces from paper plates and cotton wool, wrote a letter to Santa that we later posted in the mailbox with a promise of a letter back from the man himself, we coloured in Christmas pictures and had our faces painted. The events at Hedingham Castle are very well run and we spent a good 2 hours there but it isn't that well attended and that is a shame because they do go to tremendous effort.
